Another bailout question:

I haven’t really thought this through (hence the reason I’m asking you).

What if (because of the U.S. bailout of GM and Chrystler) the tax paying citizens get a shares of stock in the companies? Then at a future date, the companies could buy back the stock if they wish at a price no less than the worth of when they were given. Like I said I really haven’t thought about financial implications of said move, but wanted to get your business opinion on such a thing.

What do you think of the current Automaker bailout that’s happening in the states? I honestly don’t think the government should nor do I think it would work. I realize it does impact Canadian labor force (hence the reason I ask you this question), but to think that GM, Chrystler and Ford didn’t see this coming, and thus change their business models, seems to me absurd. (note: Toyota and Honda seem to not be drowning. Also, see the film “Who Killed the Electric Car?”. It kind of pissed me off.)

I have a theory on the current economic crisis. Considering the U.S. economy is “faith-based”, do you think if the media began telling everyone the economy is headed in an upward direction, that investors would then react that way, thus adverting a recession/depression? I don’t claim to understand all of the factors that go into the economy, but it seems plausible panic is cause unjustly.

Is there a possibility of global cooling if we took all of the worlds energy requirements from solar power?
