Dear Oldguy,

Would you please, I mean, pretty please with some cinnamon and sugar and even a hint of maple syrup on top, tell us your plan to avoid “certain” doom and catastrophe?

If we assume that the great depression is really coming (unlikely). Does that mean that I should extend my school career because the opportunity cost is going to do sharply down (due to the lack of available jobs), or will the lack of jobs (due to economic woes) just be canceled out by baby boomers leaving the work force.

Dear Oldguy,

Is planting trees a practical solution for (significantly) reducing the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere? Considering a lot of the logging is going on in South America, including clearcutting to make way for farming and industry, which could be politically and economically problematic to stop.

Dear Oldguy,

So, it looks like America has some hard times ahead. Given the worst case scenario ( Mccain wins, then later dies from the stress of the economic crisis leaving Palin at the helm), what is a rough estimate of the south –> north immigration going to be like?

Oldguy, I was watching the news today and noted that Mr. Harper was promising to make spam illegal. He also promised to make it illegal for those who create spam to gain your personal information under false pretenses. Isn’t this already illegal? And if so, why is it an election issue?

Question:

Since our government is needed (theoretically anyway), should they do nothing but pass laws to protect us from ourselves? The seat belt law, etc.?

Part 2: If I think the gov’t will go away and let me live peacefully, will they?

Next question (in response to your response on the previous page) -

WHY do I need the gov’t. to “protect me”, as you suggest the Reps. want from their “strong leader”? Are we as a people incapable of protecting ourselves from ourselves or others?

(Sorry, that’s 2 questions…)

Dear Oldguy… why do people think if Democrats win, they’ll get their guns taken away?

Or a shotgun!

I hope you checked out the website on these things. They’re really fast and jump on you while you run away…

Anyway, time for another question!

Here’s my question, regarding the post above:

How will it be possible to get to Iraq with a shotgun if Obama wins in Nov.? You obviously won’t be able to bring one from home (the U.S.), so I guess you’ll have to purchase one when you get there? Just curious…
